So I went yesterday to check out the Banana Republic 70% off sale and I was not disappointed. They still have a wide selection of classic pieces from tops to dresses to pants. And I found these velvet pants that I decided I couldn’t live without. They are a deep plum color that is rich and timeless, with a satin waistband that has a large button enclosure that adds a perfect finishing touch. They were not a practical purchase - I can’t exactly traipse around LA in them on a regular basis. But they will be a go-to piece come holiday parties next year and years to come and they’ll probably make their way to a few nice dinners as well. It was one of those situations where I knew I would think about these velvet pants wistfully if I didn’t snatch them up, so snatch them I did. Online they are listed at $49.99 (down from $110) but in the store they were $39.99. If you have a BR near you then it could pay off to stop in versus shopping online for even further discounts.
