shoppingQuestion: If someone compliments you on something you’re wearing, do you simply thank them?  Or do you thank them and then tell them where it’s from/who it’s by/if it was on sale/etc?

I started thinking about this when I read this little snippet over at The Cut, where the designer was saying it is dumb and uninteresting to talk about what you wear and it is even worse to talk about if you got a deal on the complimented item.

BUT.  I kind of love it if I see someone wearing cute boots and they say, “Thank you!  Forever 21…” or “Thank you! I just got them on sale at XYZ.”  Because, chances are if I’m complimenting someone’s apparel, then I’m wondering where to snag it for myself.  However, I have known a few girls in my day that practically refuse to tell you where they got a covetable piece of clothing because they want their things to have an air of exclusivity.

So I’m curious as to how you stand on the issue?  Is sharing your fashion finds a must or a no-no?

Sharing fashion details? Love it or Leave it?
