You may recall my previous post about Fit Flops, the miraculous sandal that’s supposed to help you get toned and trim just from walking around. Well, the Fit Flop has now moved beyond mere flip-flop territory with their new ‘Aurelia‘ style, described on the website as "a gorgeous, corseted, gladiator inspired, hybrid FitFlop boot… born out of a design collaboration with New York’s downtown fashion mecca Kirna Zabete." What do you
think? Are you feelin’ the gladiator Fit Flop? In my opinion, it actually looks pretty close to the sock sandal that Meagan just wrote about - another summer footwear trend of dubious attractiveness - or like the hideous lovechild of a high-top sneaker and a thick-soled orthopedic shoe. The folks over at the UK Marie Claire disagree with me, however, singing the Aurelia’s praises and calling it "the summer’s must-have shoe." If you share their enthusiasm, get in line: This limited edition Fit Flop will only be available at Kirna Zabete in NY starting in June and online from net-a-porter.com starting in July, and apparently the waiting list is already in the thousands! Thanks, but no thanks. I think I’ll stick to my flip-flops from Target…at least for now.
