Susan Boyle's makeover: Are you diggin' it?

No matter what side of the pond you live on, you must have heard of Susan Boyle by now. The rather dowdy and unassuming 47-year-old recently appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, where the judges cattily tried to stifle their laughter at her unkempt appearance, and were then left eating their words when Boyle finally opened her mouth to sing and absolutely nailed her version of the Les Miserables song “I Dreamed a Dream.” Personally, I find it rather annoying that so much is being made of this poor woman’s looks - why does every singer have to be an 18-year-old beauty queen?! But then again, if she wants to spruce herself up a little now that she’s in the public eye, I see nothing wrong with that, either. And spruce herself up she has: She’s starting slowly, but in the past few days Boyle has already updated her wardrobe, groomed her unruly brows and dyed and styled her hair.
