I have to honest: It’s rare that I get excited for a Cosmo cover. First of all, they tend to feature celebs and models that I either don’t know or don’t care about. (Case in point: May 2009, Whitney Port. Who now?) You’ll never see, oh, Kate Winslet on the cover of Cosmo. Also, they tend to make otherwise attractive women look way too trashy for my tastes. However, I am excited for next month’s issue, featuring none other than Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester! Despite the fact that Blair Waldorf is one of the best characters on TV right now, Leighton magazine covers are in woefully short supply, so this is a real treat. Also, look how classy she is! This is toned way, way down for Cosmo; no fake tanner, no over-the-top cleavage, just a cute hot pink party dress and subtle makeup! I love it! My one complaint: How come Blake Lively gets the cover of Vogue and this is the best Leighton can do?! C’mon, everyone knows that Blair is the real fashion plate on that show. Fall in line, lady mags!
