Seeing Sharon Stone in this black Balmain minidress with sweeping train at the Cannes Film Festival, one word leapt immediately to mind: Mullet! Doesn’t this look like the sartorial equivalent of that notorious “business in the front, party in the back” hairstyle that Billy Ray Cyrus used to rock? (I suppose in this case it would be “party in the front, formal occasion in the back.”) I know it’s allegedly “high fashion,” but I just don’t think trains and miniskirts go together. (I would also like to note that you should beware of strapless dresses during the summer! Look at those telltale tan lines from a bikini top.) I do applaud Sharon for keeping things relatively simple on the hair, makeup and accessories fronts, but I just don’t think this dress can be saved. Of course, I could be wrong.
