How’s this for a kooky, not-quite-believable story? This young lady pictured at left - you know, the one with the face full of stars? - is 18-year-old Kimberley Vlaminck. The Belgian teen claims that she went with her father to a tattoo parlor, where she asked the tattoo artist for just 3 stars near her left eye. Unfortunately, she claims, she fell asleep during the process (!) and ended up with a few more stars than she bargained for - 53 more, to be exact. According to Vlaminck, “When he started to tattoo me, I did not feel pain and I fell asleep. I awoke as he tattooed me on the nose and I saw what he had done.” Now, the girl and her father are attempting to sue the tattoo parlor for the cost of laser removal. The tattoo artist in question claims that there is “no way I could have tattooed so many stars on her face against her will,” and is seeking the 50 euros he is still owed for the initial tattooing. Sounds like a serious case of buyer’s remorse to me! What do you think? Is it possible that Vlaminck actually fell asleep while having tattoos inked into a very sensitive part of her body and awoke to find that the tattoo artist had gone a little doodle-happy on her face, or is she just trying to get someone else to pay for her mistake?
