facialAs per my recent post on facial masks, the effectiveness of using a mask as a shortcut to clear skin has been on my mind lately. I was browsing through the DIY Spa Treatment archives on BellaSugar, and I found quite a few recipes that look extremely intriguing - which, of course, I wanted to share.

The DIY treatment I’m most eager to try, however, isn’t a mask, per se - it’s more of an all-natural spot treatment, although it can be used all over the face as well, to clear up your skin. It has two simple ingredients: Mint and oats.

1. Pulverize a handful of fresh mint leaves in a bowl.

2. Add moist oats and mix with the mint until it forms a paste.

3. Apply to face (or just affected areas) and wait 20 minutes.

4. Rinse!

Just apply twice a day (store the mixture in the fridge between uses) until the offending breakouts are history.  If you’re looking for a blemish remedy that won’t dry out your skin with harsh chemicals, this sounds like just the ticket - and since all of these ingredients are affordable and easy to find at any grocery store, your wallet will thank you too. I’ll have to try one of these and let you know how it goes!
