makeup foreverSo….you may or may not have noticed that I didn’t blog yesterday (I hope you missed me cause I missed you!). I was MIA because I was a contestant on Trivial Pursuit: America Plays, which is a new game show that will begin airing in syndication on September 22. I’m a bit of a trivia geek and I am really excited that I got to be a contestant. I can’t tell you more about my actual show until it airs - I’ll keep you posted on an airdate - but I can tell you about my favorite part of any on-camera day:

My time in the makeup chair.

I love my time with the makeup artist and yesterday was no exception. They always make you feel beautiful and have fun new tricks up their sleeves. My new favorite product that Anthony, my makeup artist extraordonaire, used on me is Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Powder. It provided such a light-weight, matte finish that is especially useful when you’ll be on tv - all the lights shining on you coupled with your nerves that are causing you to sweat and you have a recipe for a shiny forehead. If you have a day that you are going to be photographed a lot - like a wedding or a party - then this is a great product to have in your arsenal. I think it’s also great for everyday use because it is totally translucent and really enhances your natural coloring.

great lashAmong the sea of makeup products Anthony had (most of which seemed to be from MAC, natch) I noticed that there were three tubes of Maybelline Great Lash mascara. I’m all for trying what is new and exciting in the world of mascara but Great Lash is always a staple with the makeup artists I have worked with. My advice? Have fun trying the new products but always keep a tube of Great Lash around - it’s just a classically good mascara that gets the job done.

clearOne last thing that stood out from my makeup experience: Anthony used clear mascara to define my eyebrows as the finishing touch to my makeup. I actually used to wear clear mascara on my lashes to make them long but natural looking. I stopped though because the stuff I was using (which I can’t even remember what it was) started flaking throughout the day and it would look like my lashes had dandruff. But I never have been one to define my brows with a little clear mascara. It looked polished and it made me curious as to whether any of you use this trick? Let me know!

Do you use clear mascara to groom your eyebrows?
