eyelinedI don’t know about you, but I’ve always had a bit of trouble when it comes to lining the inner rims of my eyes, that part of your eyelid that sits right up against your eyeball. First of all, it can be dangerous, with possible disasters ranging from poking yourself in the eye to dealing with little shards of wood from your pencil flaking off and getting stuck in there (eek!). Second, I always find that the liner tends to wear off - like, immediately. And third, having a product right there can be a little tough on sensitive eyes. But it looks so pretty (see pic at right), and it really is the finishing touch to any smoky eye look. Well, Tarte Cosmetics is here to help, with their newest eyeliner designed expressly for this purpose, the EmphasEYES High Definition Eye Pencil.

The EmphasEYES pencil is, first and foremost, super skinny - a real departure from my favorite fatty eyeliner, Benefit’s Bad Gal. This makes it easier to line with precision and avoid any eye-jabbing mishaps. Also, the liner itself is a creamy silicon formula created specifically with the inner rims in mind, which means it’s intended to be long-lasting and non-irritating. Additionally, the tip is softly rounded, and the lack of surrounding wood makes this pencil the safest choice yet for inner rims.

EmphasEYES is available in four shades (black, chocolate, plum and emerald green) and will set you back about $18.
