Katie Holmes may have started out fresh-faced and long-haired on Dawson’s Creek, but ever since she hooked up with that Tom Cruise fellow, she’s been all about edgy fashion and cropped haircuts. She’s gone from her original shoulder-length chestnut brown hair to a sleek chin-length bob with bangs to a messy pixie cut. Given this history of experimentation, it was a bit of a shock when she showed up to the Japanese premiere of Valkyrie with…brace yourself…long hair!

Okay, so we all know it’s fake - extensions, weave, what have you - but the question is this: Is it fabulous? I actually liked Katie’s forays into shorter hair, but I have to admit this gives her a certain sexiness that has been missing from her look lately. Reactions on the Internet have been decidedly mixed, varying from, “What’s with the weave?” to proclamations of, “Katie Holmes is beautiful again!” In case you need a refresher, here’s a shot of Katie pre-length:
