aliciapinktaylorchristinamileyHere they are: My picks for Best-Dressed at last night’s American Music Awards.

I thought Alicia Keyes looked gorgeous with her flattering one-shoulder navy gown, especially how the shoulder piece traversed her back to the other side of the gown. Picture the gown in ivory or white - beautiful wedding gown, no? And I loved her regal bindi! I want to be able to wear a bindi! Of course, this love might stem back to my childhood affection for The Neverending Story. I always wanted to be the empress ("Bastian! Call out my name!" as a single tear falls…)

Pink looked fab in her Old Hollywood gown with a punk-twist. The silouette is so classic, while the grey/metallic/striped/diagonal pattern has an edge. And I’m really digging her silver hair. This may be because I have a silver strand that grows out of my temple that I secretly love (I know I’m supposed to cry when I find a gray hair, but it’s so pretty…). Also, did you see her awesome duet with Sarah McLachlan last night?? I think Sarah should bring Lilith Fair back and add Pink to the lineup. And let me be a roadie.

How cute is Taylor Swift? She carried out the metallic theme of the evening in a flirty one-shoulder mini. The silver sequins even made a subtle zebra design! Love. And her hair and makeup looked perfectly coordinated with her fashion, playing up the silver on her eyes and letting her gorgeous blonde hair cascade on her bare shoulder.

Round of applause for Christina Aguliera, who has not always been on mark recently. But she looked gorgeous in her Old Hollywood gown that perfectly flattered her figure and looked ethereal with her skin and hair color. I love her baby bangs and the deep wine color that she used on her lips. She kept the rest of her makeup simple adding dramatic false eyelashes but no other eye makeup allowing her bold lips to take center stage. Take note: That’s how it should be done.

And last, but not least, I’m giving props to Miley Cyrus. Her dress is so much fun - the gold, the black, the mini! It all works. I particularly like the black overlay that accentuates the shape of the dress. Her shoes are understated and perfectly allow the dress to steal the show.

Did you see the show? Who was your fave? And did you love Beyonce’s performance as much as I did?
