Nina Garcia, judge on Project Runway, former fashion director of Elle and now current fashion director of Marie Claire, has a new book out this week called The One Hundred. It is about the one hundred fashion items you should have in your closet to be well-stocked for any occasion - from the little black dress to the zip-up hoodie. She has compiled the list based on her own closet and the pieces that have stood the test of fashion time. I personally can’t wait to pick up the book and do a little checklist of what I have and what I should look into. 
Not that what her book says will be the end-all-be-all to my fashion choices, but it’s always nice to have an outline that you can build off of and make your own. You should head over to the NY Daily News and see their write up about it because they also have a slideshow of Nina’s Top Ten Fall Fashion Essentials. They’ve chosen some very affordable pieces as examples of each essential, which is always encouraging to my fashion sensibilities! I’m kind of in love with the LBD from Old Navy and I think I’ll have to add it to my closet.
